Pet Water Fountain OEM: Filtration, Pump and Quality Checklist

Choosing a pet water fountain OEM supplier involves more than comparing reservoir capacity and unit price. Filtration, pump access, cleaning time, replacement-part availability and clear documentation all affect customer experience and the long-term cost of supporting a product line. Use this checklist to structure supplier discussions and sample testing.

1. Define the Filtration System

Ask what each filter layer is designed to capture, which materials are used and whether replacement cartridges will remain available. Confirm the recommended replacement interval against the actual product instructions and target water conditions; avoid publishing a universal schedule without test support.

2. Test Pump Noise and Water Flow

Run the sample at normal and minimum fill levels. Record the test setup, distance and room conditions if you measure sound. Check whether flow remains consistent, whether the pump stays submerged and whether the design is easy to disassemble for hair or mineral buildup.

3. Check Cleaning and Food-Contact Materials

Time a first-time user cleaning the reservoir, bowl and pump cover. Ask for material specifications and relevant declarations for parts that contact water. Confirm which parts are dishwasher-safe only when that claim is supported by product testing.

4. Agree on Quality Checks and Spare Parts

• Define incoming, in-process and final inspection checkpoints.
• Ask for pump endurance and leakage test methods and acceptance criteria.
• Confirm replacement pump and filter part numbers, packaging and replenishment process.
• Review the warranty workflow and how recurring field issues are investigated.

5. Clarify OEM Scope Before Ordering

Separate standard product availability from logo, color, packaging and structural customization. Confirm MOQ and lead time for each option, sample approval steps, artwork ownership and which market-specific documents are available for the exact model.

Evaluate a Sample Before Scaling

Run the fountain continuously for an agreed sample period, test refill and cleaning steps, and document noise, leakage, flow and pump restart behavior. Keep an approved reference sample and written specification for production comparison.
